Review Scoring Methodology v1.0
ChairGrade evaluates seating using a transparent, mathematically computed weighted scoring algorithm. Rather than assigning an arbitrary overall number, each chair is evaluated across six defined criteria weighted by their impact on long-term spinal health and posture.
The 6-Point Weighted Formula
| Criterion | Weight | Key Assessment Focus |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Comfort & Lumbar Support | 25% | Lordotic curvature support, lumbar adjustability, pressure distribution, seat foam density. |
| 2. Adjustability & Ergonomics | 20% | Seat height range, 2D/3D/4D armrest movement, recline tilt angle, tilt tension, headrest range. |
| 3. Build Quality & Mechanism | 20% | Synchro-tilt mechanism, Class 4 gas lift cylinder, nylon vs aluminum base, caster smoothness. |
| 4. Materials & Durability | 15% | High-tensile breathable mesh, abrasion resistance, fabric stitching, anti-sagging evidence. |
| 5. Real-World Value | 15% | Feature-to-price ratio in INR, warranty coverage terms (3-12 yrs), post-purchase support. |
| 6. Assembly & Packaging | 5% | Clarity of manual, tool inclusion, packaging protection, DIY setup time (under 25 mins). |
Formula Execution
Overall Score = Sum(Score_i * Weight_i) / Sum(Weights_Valid)
Critical Integrity Rule: If a criterion has not been verified or is missing from testing data, it is excluded from both numerator and denominator—it is never treated as a fake zero score. A minimum of 80% criteria coverage is mandatory before any chair review is certified for publication.
